Step 3: Choose the Options

The 3rd step includes telling the Property Propagater what you want it to do with existing properties in the files. Do you want them left alone, changed, deleted? If the program encounters a property of the same name at the same level (model-level vs. configuration-level), do you want the property changed to the default value? What about the other properties that are in the file but not listed for propagation? Leave them alone, or eliminate them?

Lastly, you can decide to run this program in a much faster mode that does not need to open the files in SolidWorks. This technique can be used for editing Model-level properties, but it cannot access Configuration-specific properties. If you are only propagating model-level properties, we recommend checking the “Express Processing” option.
