Step 2: Define the Properties

If you are only working with changes to model-level properties, you will probably want to use the “Express Processing” option, which runs far faster than normal mode. This is because express processing does not need to open each file in SolidWorks in order to make the changes. If, however, you need to make revisions to the Configuration Properties, then you must use the normal mode since these properties can only be accessed through SolidWorks. The Configuration-Specific properties listed and checked here will be propagated to ALL configurations of the files that you include.

Properties can be created from scratch or automatically replicated from a sample file. In either case, you can select which properties to include in a given run by checking or unchecking each item. “Update” saves the changes, while “Cancel” closes without keeping the modifications. Clicking on a property in the listing will put it into the textboxes on the left for editing.
Tip: If you are working with groups of files that have different default values, you can create multiple properties of the same name with different values. You can then check off the appropriate choice for each run. Note that properties are saved for re- use until you delete them.
